What do people do on Sunday afternoons? Exactly. Make origami cranes and hang them up on the ceiling and then take pictures with them! Duh. ;)
I don’t know what it is with me and origami. I just get so fascinated by it. Back in the day when I was still young and innocent and working on my first 365 project, I already had a strange love affair with origami birds. I guess it is just one of those things you can’t explain.
Anyhow, after making some digital self portraits with the cranes, I also made a polaroid self portrait. And while doing that, I also made a behind the scenes video! It’s like I’m three people in one! ;) So here’s a little insight into what goes on in my living room when I get a creative rush.
And here is the scanned polaroid. :)
Recently I discovered I have only been photographing brunettes the past months. I don’t know what happened, maybe I was going through a brunette phase, maybe I was sending some weird ‘brunette vibe’, or maybe – and most likely – it was all just a coincidence. But having been blonde deprived well, this entire year, I was very happy to be able to shoot with Camille, a new face at Flag Models. Turns out this shoot with me today was only her second shoot ever. But I would never have guessed. She’s a complete natural. And she looks like Agyness Deyn and Ashley Smith (cute gap between teeth included) melted together. I could not have been happier. If this girl doesn’t make it, I don’t know who will.

Last week I had a shoot with my two muses, Charlotte & Yaelle. I have had several photoshoots with them and I never grow tired of shooting them. This time I had a somewhat crazy concept in mind, involving spices and patterns, and I knew they would not mind going along with my craziness. Here’s a small behind the scenes video I made for fun while makeup artist Kathleen was doing her work.
